Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – January 17, 2021

Every Child Deserves A Birth Day!

The National Sanctity of Human Life Day is a day to reflect on the lives of unborn children who have been impacted by the Roe v. Wade decision.

History

President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation in 1984, designating Sunday, January 22, 1984 as National Sanctity of Human Life Day, noting that it was the 11th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, in which the Supreme Court issued a ruling that guaranteed women access to abortion. President Reagan was a strong anti-abortion advocate who said that in Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court “struck down our laws protecting the lives of unborn children”.

Reagan issued the proclamation annually thereafter, designating Sanctity of Human Life Day to be the closest Sunday to the original January 22 date.

National Sanctity of Human Life Day has since been an observance declared by several United States Presidents who oppose abortion.

This year, National Sanctity of Human Life Day falls on January 17th, 2021.

At New Beginnings, we believe every child deserves a birth day. Our mission is to provide local women and families the support and resources necessary to CHOOSE LIFE!

We are reaching out to the community for help celebrating the birth day of these New Beginnings babies who will be born in 2021. We would like to place collection boxes at local churches and businesses for new baby items that these precious little ones will need.

Collection

During our National Sanctity of Human Life Day baby item collection drive, any new baby shower gift item will be accepted, including items like:

High need items:

• Wipes
• Sleep slacks (sizes 0-6 months)
• Footed sleepers (sizes 0-6 months)

Other items:

• Diapers (all sizes and brands)
• Baby Shampoo, lotion, & soap
• Hats, socks, & mittens
• Rattles & pacifiers

If your organization is able to host a collection box, we will deliver the box prior to Sunday, January 17th and pick up on Monday, January 18th. We will also provide National Sanctity Of Human Life Day literature and an announcement regarding the baby item collection that you can place in your church bulletin ahead of the event. Please let us know by January 4th, 2021 if your organization would like to participate in this collection event.

Our annual Celebration of Life Banquet will be Thursday March 4, 2021 at 6:00pm.  The evening will begin with a silent auction and delicious catered dinner followed by a state-of-the-ministry update, client testimonials and a presentation of our vision for the next five years.

This is our primary fundraiser of the year and our goal is to raise half our operating income for the year.

Please make plans to join us, Thursday, March 4, 2021 @ 6PM @ Deep in the Heart Farms, 8251 Highway 105, Brenham.

PRAYER BUDDIES

WHY STUFFED CROCHET ANIMALS??

The founder of our ministry is a woman who experienced an unplanned pregnancy and abortion at the age of 21. One thing she had to do before starting the ministry was tell her parents what she had done. These stuffed animals are made by the mother of the founder; in honor of her granddaughter, lost to abortion in 1993. While she crochets, she prays for the mother and child who will receive each animal.
